cough syrup i've never heard of...
mucinex/robitussin(in pill form) can be used to loosen up your CM (cervical mucus) and that helps the spermies get to where they need to go.

You can take it in syrup form as well. Robitussen/Mucinex is an expectorant - you take it when you have a cold to loosen the mucus in your nose, chest, etc. It has the same effect on all of your mucus membranes, so it will thin out your cervical mucus if you what you do produce is scant and/or thick/sticky in consistency. It will not make you produce more mucus, just thin out what you already have. Just make sure the SOLE active ingredient is guaifenesin - other active ingredients may contain antihistamines which will dry you up.

There are tons of different theories as to when you should use it - some people say up until O. I've also read that you should take it about an hour or so before you BD around your O time, which makes more sense to me. I think that's what Deanna's Plan recommends.
