Cosco car seat feedback
Anyone have one or use one?
I need to get one for dd (3yo) which will be used once maybe twice a year while we visit family out of state. I am between the Scenera Next and the High Back booster My guess is the high back will last longer, but I worry bc i can not find any info on it and even the Cosco site does not have it listed.
Any feedback or opinions on which to get is appreciated Open to other options as well...but need to be mindful of cost since its a once a year use thing

Re: Cosco car seat feedback
Look up the scenera next weight limit. I think it only goes up to 40 lbs. We bought it for vacation/extra seat and hated it. Our usual seats are Britax. We had a difficult time installing it, but what I really didn't like was the straps kept getting uneven (1 side with more slack than the other) and I spent a while each time we got in the car trying to get both sides tight. Maybe there is a trick, but I even looked it up online and followed the tips I found and still had difficulty. The other thing is the crotch buckle that comes with the seat is pretty short. My 1.5 year old was uncomfortable with it. I think you might be able to order a longer one from cosco.

Re: Cosco car seat feedback
DH has the scenera in his car, we have had no issues with it. We bring it with us when traveling because its lighter other car seats.

Cosco car seat feedback
The NEXT has top harness slots of 13" which are typically outgrown by a 3t shirt or so. The other one has top slots of 15" which is outgrown around a 5T shirt. Both seats are outgrowb at a max weight of 40 pounds as well. Also the booster function provides a bad and potentially dangerous belt fit.
If you are planning on traveling via plane I would just bring whatever seat you typically use for her since neither of these would really be an option for your situation.

Re: Cosco car seat feedback
We bought the scenera next car seats for flying/traveling when we went to Florida, had no issues, easy to install ( and we also have Britax car seats in our cars at home). They were light and really easy to travel with ETA: my kids were 4 and 2 when we used them. I knew my 4 year old would outgrow the seat quickly but we bought it specifically for this trip ( cheaper and cleaner than renting) so if u need it to last years it prob wouldn't be a good option

Re: Cosco car seat feedback
We used a Cosco Scenera when DD was younger solely for air travel so we wouldn't have to bring our Britax with us. As others have stated the weight limit is 40lbs. Since we got it for DD's first trip at 11 months old we were able to use it for a bunch of flights which was great.
Even if DD was on the smaller side I don't think I'd get the Scenera since you're only planning to use it one a year. You'd probably only get one use out of it. Even though it's an inexpensive seat it would still be a waste IMO.
You're definitely better off with a 5 point booster. I know there are a bunch of car seat techs on here that can recommend a more inexpensive but good seat.
