Coram P C: PSA DONT USE THEM!!!
I know this is probably going to get bounced over to pets but I figured I'd give it a try to warn you all about the Coram Pet Cemetary on Middle Country Rd.
My girlfriend had to put her only "child" to sleep on Sunday. Her dog had diabetes really bad and was in terrible shape. This dog has been her only companion through the death of her husband, etc etc.
The Pet Cemetary was supposed to get the dog from the vet on Monday morning. They called her yesterday and said that they had just gotten the dog. My friend was upset because her dog was (excuse the term) "on ice" for two days. They then got nasty and told her that they would not cremate the dog unless they had full payment over the phone. My friend told them that she didnt want to pay them over the phone but that she would be in tomorrow to pay in full with CASH and pick up her beloved dog. The lady kept pressuring her to pay over the phone but she refused.
And so she went to the Pet Cemetary today as scheduled to pick up her poor dog and they tell her that they LOST HER DOG!!!! W T F !!!! Are you kidding???
My poor friend is devastated. Has anybody else had any dealings with them???

some of those places are terrible. . .we took our Juno to a place in Queens and they called us to pick up his ashes and we did. THEN they called us a few days later to pick up his ashes AGAIN! So, we didn't know what to do, or which ashes were actually HIS, so we respectfully buried BOTH . . . it is so sad that someone out there does not have their dog

A VERY honest vet told us that most places DID NOT clean ashes from one pet to another. So if we wanted the ashes of our female dog who had died, it would most likely not be just hers or not hers at all.
We had no idea and appreciated knowing the truth.
So sorry for your friend. Pets are really like a family member and we suffer from their loss just as bad.

It is so horrible...I heard really bad things about those places/
I know when my MIL put down their dog, she had to pay extra to have the ashes cleaned before cremating their dog...whether they really did it ..who knows
You would think people who work in places like this would have some sympathy and consideration

there was a story about them a long time ago that they were not buring the dogs in plots they were just throwing them all together in one big hole and people were paying so much money. they are crooks i dont reccomend them to anyone!

I dealt with them months ago after losing my Maltese of 15 years. I was a mess when I lost her, to say the least. I was happy with the service and dealing with them. I paid through the animal hospital. The animal hospital made all the arrangements for me. I also went to have a viewing before they cremated her due to what happened there years ago. I had to know it was her that was there and her ashes I was getting back. I know it is new owners now, but I still remember what happened. My dad watched them put her in and we waited to take her ashes home in the next couple of hours. I was the only one there and with my father witnessing, I know I have her ashes with me. I found them to be professional and caring. I am so so deeply sorry your friend went through this. The poor thing. I will say a prayer that they find her beloved dog. That must be horrible for her.

UPDATE:
They "claim" to have found my friends dog. She told her that she was coming to pick up her dog but she got a box of ashes when she got there. Whether or not it really is her beloved nobody will ever know. Im just glad that she feels better because she believes that it's hers.
