Convertable carseat that converts to a booster?
Can you please recommend yours?
There are so many and carseats just confuse me
We will use the snap n go, but then want one carseat that will last through booster. There is such a difference in prices that I'm not sure what's best. We need 4 (2 babies/2 cars) so we don't wat to have to buy new carseats or boosters later.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the seats that convert to boosters. Most car seats have a 6 year life span before the plastic starts to lose it's effectiveness. DS is 9, and still in a booster. DC must legally be in a booster until age 8, if not longer. If you have a seat that has a 6 year life span, you're going to need that seat longer than it's good for.
By not having one that converts, I was forced to buy a new seat, with new plastic, and never had to think about the expiration date.

While I definitely agree with Shawn about plastics getting worse over the years, my evenflo symphony doesn't expire for 8 years. By then you can buy an inexpensive no back booster for them to ride in.
It stays rear facing up to 45 pounds, forward facing with harnesses to 65 pounds, can be used as a booster up to 100 pounds. Adjustable head rest so no worries about growing out height wise. Easy to install, easy to adjust straps and doesnt expire for 8 years.

So should I just get the regular ones now then buy 4 $40 boosters when they are bigger. We would probably use the convertable from like 6-8 mo on b/c Im not carryig around 2 heavy carriers and 2 babies.

I wouldn't worry about boosters when you haven't even had the babies yet. The new recommendations, kids don't go into belt positioning booster until at a minimum, age 5-6 depending upon size.
Worry about your infant seats. Don't forget, you can use the infant carrier as a convertible up to the limits of the seats. You can get convertibles when you get closer to the time you need them. Having seats sit for about a year, unused, is just taking a year of valuable life off the usable span of the seat.
There's an expression in the tech world regarding the majority of the "all in one seats" Jack of all trades, master of none. Some do the job better than others, but really none of them really do a spectacular job at ALL of them.

I didnt even think of the waiting a yr with the plastic. I was just putting them on the registry because everyone is telling me to add convertables too b/c they use them before a yr , rear-facing. I guess I'll just get boosters later.
Thanks everyone!
