Consult with OB/GYN

We are going for a consultation with my OB/GYN in October. Do people normally do this? What information should I have ready? I am so nervous because I want to try already!!! I am still on BC, but I want to go off and use condoms for the next 4 months (while I get the methotrexate out of my body)-is this a bad idea?

I am so confused!

Re: Consult with OB/GYN

It's def a good idea to speak with your Dr b4 you get off the pill or right when you get off the pill. I'm sure he/she will give you some advise and possibly start you on prenatal vits. You're supposed to start a couple of months to get it in your system. You may want to get of BCP sooner than later. I have heard some women are fertile, but a lot of other women (myself included) took a while to adjust. My cycle the first couple of months were off and I didn't O for a few months either.

Good Luck!

Re: Consult with OB/GYN

I would say definately consult your doctor before coming off the pill- but for a different reason. If methotrexate is dangerous to a baby- you do not want an oops baby that could be harmed. If enough of it has left your system that it won't be harmful- then I say go the condom route. But definately talk to your doctor first.Chat Icon
