Constipation (sorry)

Since Saturday, I have not gone #2. I feel like I have to, but it won't come out Chat Icon

This is so ridiculous, but I don't want to even try to push for fear of damaging whatever is going on in my belly.

What can I do for this? Chat Icon

(I don't think I've ever had so many questions about anything in my life. My neurotic personality is already getting the better of me Chat Icon )

Re: Constipation (sorry)

I had it bad in my 1st trimester!! I went 9 days once without going and it hurt like hell when I finally was able to!

Start taking stool softeners everyday! Docs recommend Colace, but since it can be expensive I bought the Kirkland brand from costco (its the same thing).

And now that I have to take 3 iron pills a day for anemia, I take a stool softener in the morning and at night- works like a charm!

Thanks Marie!

My pre-natal that I've been taking since starting TTC in July has a stool-softener built in. Should I take an additional one on top of that?

Mine did too and it didn't help. Prenatals kinda screw with your intestinal tract. It's good times. Chat Icon Colace (or a generic) on top of your prenatal will ease the effects.

It's obviously not working, so I would!! If you're uncomfortable with it, then call your doctor 1st thing tomorrow to make sure its safe! The sooner you get a handle on it, the better!!

Re: Constipation (sorry)

My doctor told me to take stool softners daily. I take 2 with a cup of decaf tea everyday. It helped when I was pregnant with DD and now with this one. Feel betterChat Icon
