Consensus Question

Has anyone tested at 10dpo and gotten a BFN just to get a BFP later on?

I'm not expecting it, just curious.
TIA

Re: Consensus Question

I know the answer to this is yes, and I am hoping this is the case for me! I am closer to 14dpo, and I got a BFN, SO I'm still trying to stay positive!

Always used FRER....I never cheaped out on any of my tests (PG and OPK) it was always too important to me to go the cheap route

Re: Consensus Question

I got a BFN at 10dpo and then a BFP at 11dpo. Actually I got a BFN on 11dpo at the doctor's office only to go home and get a bfp later that night. I am currently 25w5d pregnant. And fwiw, I got my bfp on an internet cheapie which are the same tests the doctors use in their offices.

So if I use cheapies, it's not important to me? I just know it can take a while and it's more budget friendly. Thanks for your input, I like having the info

Thats ridiculous, the wondfos work just as well as frers and I find them to be more sensitive.

Yea, no offense but this came out pretty rude. Kind of like your saying who ever uses cheap test TTC is not important to them. Unfortunately not all of us can afford to test with expensive test especially if we are POAS addicts. I tested with an internet cheapie both times at 10dpo and got a positive.

I was on this board for 2 years before I got my BFP and saw many girls get their hopes up from false results on cheapies. So i made the personal decision that it wasn't worth it to me to save a few bucks. If that came off rude then I guess im rude.

Wow. I don't think the snarkiness was necessary. You could have just said "I always used FRER" and that's it. Or "I always used FRER because I didn't trust the cheapies." There are other ways to get your point across.

As you are well aware, TTC can be a long, complicated, frustrating, and expensive process. The women on here who use the internet cheapie tests (and quite a few have had no issues with them) don't need your insensitive comments.

This board is a source of information and support. Can we please keep it this way??

Thanks.

Yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe you didnt mean for it to come out that way but it did come off wrong. I understand your point but I think for the most part internet cheapies are very much reliable and as accurate as the FRER.

First, to answer your question. Yes I did. If you look at my album I got my bfp at 12 dpo.
And as for the wondfos, it was the first one I took. When I saw the bfp I then dipped the FRER. I thought my wondfos were very accurate and affordable. Used the opks too.

I have personally used cheap tests and expensive tests. With my first baby i tested with a cheapie and got a BFP My dd will be 2 years old on Monday. I am now 31 weeks pregnant and tested at 10dpO and got a BFN tested again at 14 dpo and got a BFP. Its very possible that 10dpo is too early to test. Im sending you BFP VIBES

Re: Consensus Question

I did for one of my cycles. I tested negative starting at either 9 or 10dpo and got a faint positive at 12dpo. Unfortunately that cycle was a chemical though Chat Icon.

I'm not sure if the late bfp and chemical were related though.....

Good luck!!

Re: Consensus Question

Cheap tests are just as reliable as expensive ones. Doctors offices use the cheapies. If you get a faint line and then AF, it probably wasn't a false positive, it was more than likely a chemical pregnancy. False positives (and this is from doing tonnssss of informal research in person and online!) generally only occur with blue dye tests, and the false positive lines do not resemble true positive lines at all.
