Confused..…What would you do?
To make a long story short my doctors office is closing at the end of May. I am due June 9th. There are two women drs in the office. One of which I’ve been seeing and delivered my son the other I don’t know from a hole in the wall. My doctor will be moving to a new office but she doesn’t know when. The other doctor will be delivering up until July 1st. If it comes down to it and my dr gets in the new office before I deliver I can switch to that office but the only downfall is it will be with a man which I am totally uncomfortable with. If she is not on call the day I go into labor I could have him who again I wouldn’t even know. Or I can stay at the office I am at now and have the female dr. who I don’t really know deliver. I am so disappointed about this whole thing.

I agree.
Just so you know, at alot of large practices with several doctors, you are forced to see all the doctors in the practice in the weeks leading up to your EDD because *your* doc may not be on call when you go into labor.
if it's any consolation, I ALWAYS had a female doc from when I started going to the GYN at 15 until I was pregnant with DS (26) and I was PETRIFIED about having to see a MALE doctor. After having 2 babies (one with a male doc and another with a female), it's not a big deal to me anymore. And quite frankly, I feel more comfortable with a male doctor now, but overall, so long as they are good doctors and I'm in good hands, than I'm good. As you know, I recently moved and my doc now is a male.
Good luck!

I agree. I would just meet with each of the doctors and see how you feel about one versus the other.
As for me, i go to a group so i have to see all the doctors (i think there is 6 of them) because there is no guarantee on who will delivery the baby the day of.
But my regular obgyn is male and i absolutely love him. Unfortunately he's on the old side so he doesn't deliver anymore.
I have seen both male and female doctors and i'd prefer a male any day! He's just a bit gentler and he takes more time to explain things to me when needed.
