Confused about Prunes
lol... OK so prunes are supposed to be a really good natural laxative which I think is what I need.. but looking at the nutritional information they don't seem to have much fiber at all and have a ton of carbs. Do they really work? My package says 3 carbs per serving which is 5 prunes meanwhile a Fiber One bar has 9 grams of fiber. I guess my question is do they just magically work better than processed things like F.O. bars?

Confused about Prunes
YES!! I eat them every other day & I have no problems. I was constipated prior to my prune routine. Prunes are fat & sodium free :). I also east hummus practically everyday and that helps too.

Re: Confused about Prunes
Prunes are great! I have a bag from TRader Joes and it says approximately 5 prunes has 12% of you daily value of fiber.

Confused about Prunes
Just thought I would share this info I found on WebMD: Prunes contain sorbitol which has a laxative effect. So, it's not just the amount of fiber in the prune but other factors as well.
