Compensation based solely on Performance
What does "Compensation based solely on performance" mean?? There is no "base pay" and only incentive based salary??

Is this for a position that you are considering or are they re-vamping your current position?
I'm going to assume the first...sounds to me like it's commission type deal but if your not in sales then they equate sales in that sense to be performance in this sense. So I would assume there would be deliverables and based on the incumbents ability to meet those deliverables they have a scale in which they compensate. Also the better you do the job (however they consider that - time, feedback, results) the better the comp...that's my best guess.

I applied for a job online that called me. In doing more research, I saw the phrase "Compensation Based Solely on Individual Performance" ... which to me means no base pay and only on performance based goals.
Now in looking further into this company, I could not find ANYTHING on the web about this company except tons of job postings that all say the same thing in different ways.
I think it's shady.

Hmmm - I agree with your concern. I'd feel the same way. If they call you in for an interview it's definitely something to have a long discussion about.

Well I asked them over the phone about compensation (I have to take a day off of work to go on the interview since it's in LI and I work in NY) and they said "it will be addressed on the interview." Just seems like one of those places that pull recent college grads into ... as I read more and more job postings it all seemed to allude to the SAME EXACT job.

You know what - I've learned - go with your guy. I find it shady that they won't address it even in the slightest with you. Ultimately you make the decision but in my opinion - I'd hate to see you have your time wasted. Go with your gut on this.
