Colonoscopy..Update

How long after a colonoscopy is there discomfort??? I had one done yesterday and they took a biopsy and I still have loose bowel movements and I feel so sore and have really bad cramps. Is there anything I can do do to help the pain, I have to go to work tomorrow.

Thanks

Update: Thanks for responding I just called the dr and they said he isn't in today but that I can call the emergency number after 2. I don't know if it's considered an emergency. The gastro told me after the procedure yesterday that he thinks it could be endometrosis because of the pain and that he said my large instestiant was not "normal" shaped it may be pushed around because of him thinking it's endometrosis. So now the gyn just called me to tell me that he believes due to my hormone levels that I may have Poly Cystic ovaries and that after my next Af he may want to do a test threw my stomach to see if I do have endo and then we will discuss the Poly Cystic Ovaries. Sorry for babbling but I am in tears right now feeling like a science experiment .
Thanks

Re: Colonoscopy

oh Krystal - i'm so sorry....

i have had 3 in my life (unfortunately) and have never had discomfort past the procedure itself. The loose bowel stuff - i have every day (ibs-d)...

the cramps may be gas...i know it sounds silly - but farting may be your only option...

if you are worried, a quick call to the doc may be in order!

ITA!

I hope you feel better. Did you have a problem before? For me, I have crohns so I always feel that way. If it's something different, you should call the doc.

oh sweety - don't feel badly.....you weren't babbling...

i know the feeling of being an experiment all too well...(BELIEVE ME)..

Let's take it one thing at a time... Call the gastro after 2 - seriously. Tell him everything you were told today & see what he thinks. He was just 'in there' and may be able to give you some insight.

If you have PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) - there are many ways to keep it under control...i know MANY girls that have this and they are a-okay...

The thing to remember is that you are on your way to being a healthy woman. It STINKS beyond words how bad it is to have to go for test, after test, after test....but the end result is that you will live a happier life and have less pain because of it. Keep looking for that light at the end of the tunnel..

PLEASE....FM if you need ANYTHING!!!!
