Re: cold help
my girls are just getting over a nasty cold. we used saline drops to help clear their noses and a cool mist humidifier at night. lots of fluids, its ok if they dont want to eat food at first as long as they are getting fluids.
watch out for fevers that lasts for a few days or over 101 and its very common for kids to develop ear infections when they have colds.

Re: cold help
The Spring!!
Kidding! I feel like the runny noses last forever though. As the PP said... cool mist humidifier at night, Vicks on chest or feet (depending on age), Vicks plug Ins, saline spray, nasal aspirator, sit in the bathroom and let the shower run warm (steam helps), if they're little elevate her head, keep wiping the nose, and wash hands. I spray Lysol and wipe down toys when they're sick so no one else gets sick.

cold help
Lots of saline, nose frida, humidifier. Bring lo into the bathroom after you run the hot shower to steam it up.
Edit. If it sounds like a barking cough, or there is chest congestion I would be concerned. Make sure it's not in their lungs.
