Clomid Dosage ??

What determines whether your doc starts you w/ 50mg or 100-150mg's

Just wondering b/c people who actually get a BFP seem to be on the higher doses of clomid.

For me we started on 25mg.. then we moved up to 50 this month. I "Think" they start lower (50 usually) and look at your response and then up the dose.

I did 50mg both times but I am only on it to give us a better chance. I ovulate on my own. Not sure what is instore for me this time around

I don't ovulate on my own due to PCOS I am on Provera now so I was just wondering.

I was started on 100 mg. I am dealing with unexplained infertility (I have no issues with ovulation) and was started on Clomid as a means of increasing my chances. I am not sure why he started me on 100 mg, but I responded well to the dosage and had minimal side effects - mainly bloating.

I think for the most part they start you on 50mg because some respond beautifully and that's all they need. I just did my first cycle with 50mg of clomid, and so far I have not responded, but I will be going back on Sat to check. Oh- and I have PCOS.

I have PCOS and dont ovulate on my own. I did three clomid/iui cycles. The first cycle with 100 I produced one egg. The 2nd and 3rd cycles they bumped me up to 150 and I produced 2 eggs.

I got BFP from 50 mg on the 2nd try..pg didn't work out..then I got pg on 100 mg on the 4th try..also didn't work out..they bumped me up b/c of my age to increase teh odds.
