Clomid and IUI

Hi so DH and I have been trying naturally for 22 mos , with nothing so we decided to go for a consult with RE , it happened to fall on the third day of my cycle , and they decide to start the IUI process , they put me on Clomid for the next 5 days but 100 mg , a few people I know only did 50 mg ,I am kinda wondering why such a high dose , any thoughts?

I did 100mg and had a great reaction to it. I did it 2x and it didnt work from me but I had a few great size follies from the clomid.

They started me on 100 also, but it was too much and I grew a 40mm follie and a 18mm. They proceeded with the IUI, but it failed. Next month I did 50mg and grew a 24 and 25mm and it ended up being a chemical. The one side didn't rupture and I had to miss this cycle.

I think it's typical to begin on 100mg, but some people are more sensitive to it and need less. Some don't respond at all so they up it to 150. I think they just begin middle of the road. When I was first going to be treated by my ongyn, they only gave me 50mg though.
