Clomid?
For those of you who are or have taken Clomid- will the dr. prescribe it if you're not taking Metformin? I'm going to lose my medical in a few months and I know the dr. suggested that as the next step. I'm really bad with taking my metformin and am wondering if I should keep taking it and wait to call the dr or if i should just call him to see if i can get a prescription.

Re: Clomid?
my first round of Clomid was w/o the Met, and I never ovulated.
Last month was my first round of Met/Clomid together (been on Met since Feb) and I finally O'd!
I would strongly encourage you to take the combo!

Re: Clomid?
you can take Clomid without Met and I've heard of people taking them together too. you should give your doctor a call and see what she/he thinks is best for you. sorry you are loosing your medical. I've heard Clomid is cheap (I think in the $20 or so range), even without insurance.

I think it's the generic that's cheap.... when I filled my Rx in January it was for a three month supply, cost me $280! And that was WITH insurance. But that was my drs, fault because she marked the Rx with do not subsitute for generic.

Re: Clomid?
Wow! Ok, good to know. My insurance covered it, so the copay was only $5.

Re: Clomid?
I am starting my second cycle of clomid without met
ETA I also ovulated before clomid, but the doctor just wanted to increase the # of follicles that's why I started to take it. the first cycle I had 2-3 good follies.
