Clogged duct and sttn? Update need advice please!!

I have a clogged duct which I am watching closely for mastitis as I have a low grade fever (100) and body aches.

I dropped the middle of the night feeding about 2 weeks ago as dh was giving him a bottle and now he is sleeping 9 hours at night.

My question is what should I do tonight about the middle of the night? Should I wake up and do a warm compress and pump? Last night the pain woke me up so it wasn't an issue.

Also when would you call the dr for meds? How high of a fever?

Re: Clogged duct and sttn?

I would get in a hot shower and massage the heck out the area (use some force)
Also in the middle of the night you can wear 2 sports bras or just make sure you have really good support.
When is the babies last feeding? If it is early enough I would try to pump tonight right before you go to bed and maybe tomorrow but no more than that as you will be telling your breasts to produce at that time.
If your feeding is late and you can't pump ice after you nurse for a short period of time that should help decrease your supply in the middle of the night.
Your supply will adjust In a couple of days at most 2 weeks.

thank you.. He goes to bed at 8 ish so I can pump before I go to bed.

As far as I can see no milk is coming out when he nurses even after a hot bag of water and massage.

Fever is 103.4 now and I feel like garbage Chat Icon not sure what to do? Should I go to urgent care? Or just see what the morning brings? im home alone with 3 kids Tom so going may be very difficult.

If you aren't able to go to the Dr tomorrow than urgent care sounds like a good option. Mastitis is dangerous and you need to get checked out and medicated. Also try and call your OB because they might be able to prescribe you something without seeing you .
Good Luck and feel better !
