I use qtips and have since about 1 month. But I only clean the outer part and folds of his ear, if that makes sense.
The qtip never goes IN the ear canal part...

I use the baby q-tips and I only use them for what I can see. We only clean his ears when we know that there is not any moisture left in there from his bath. There is a chance that the Q-tip may push water down further.

DD is 3 and I have never gone near her ears. If she had anything on the outside of her ear I would just wipe with a cloth but NO q. tips. They do more harm than good.

I've never used a q-tip. I just clean the outside with the washcloth in the tub.
Our ped. todl us to never use the q-tip.
