is anyone taking any classes to prepare for childbirth? i see that my hospital offers a "childbirth preparation class" which i am debating to take, but a friend of mine also mentioned taking a CPR class; does anyone know where i can find a CPR class or anything else that may be useful?

Re: classes
Our hospital offered an 8 hour childbirth class. We left after 3 hours. It gave me too much anxiety. Some people think its helpful though, its a personal choice. For me, the videos were stressing me out so we left.

Re: classes
We took a bunch of classes through the hospital - car seat inspection, preparing for childbirth, taking care of baby, daddy boot camp, intro to breastfeeding and we have a CPR class scheduled next week. You can call the hospital and see if they offer an infant CPR class

hubby and i are taking a childbirth prep class at our obgyn office -- it's 2 nights and 2 hours each class..... I am also taking a breastfeeding class at the hospital. My hospital (southampton) offers a whole bunch of classes from infant cpr, tours, breastfeeding, beyond delivery, how to care for newborn.....

Re: classes
I'm not taking a birthing class, but DH and I are taking a CPR course. MY OB's office is also having a breastfeeding class next Thursday and I will be attending that.

I am taking a "bring baby home" course and yep, Lamaze. Both given at St. Charles Hospital. I also will take the CPR class they offer there.

Re: classes
We took a Bradley Method (natural childbirth) class and CPR. The CPR class was offered through DH's job though.
