Chromosomal Translocation

Has anyone been dealing with TTC while having a chromosomal translocation? If so, what has your journey been like?

I went over my results with Dr. B. on Friday and found out that I have one between chromosomes 5 and 11. Now my parents and sister have to go for karyotypes to see if they have it or if it's something that just happened with me. We are also waiting on some PCOS results, so soon we'll know exactly how many issues we're dealing with.

Dr. B. told me that we can keep trying, but that I could expect more miscarriages, and that IVF might also be an option. Not sure where we're going next, but I'm feeling bummed, as this totally blindsided me. It was a tough way to go into the holiday. Dr. B. saw I was upset and told me that whether it's just the one issue or the two, I will have a baby. I love that he sounded so positive...I just wish I felt that way.

My husband had a BT. Dr. B found it. I got pregnant on the first IVF with him. We put back four embryos. The key with BT is to put back a lot of embryos. You will get pregnant but you just have to find the one embryo that doesn't carry the unbalanced translocation. A BT or normal embryo is fine. You just cannot get the UT embryo.

I have a balanced translocation and dealt with IF. You can do IVF with PGD, but I did get pg with IVF with a 5 day transfer of blasts only.
