Christmas tree Q

DH really wants a real tree this year, but here is the problem. We never spend Christmas on LI. My family is in MD and we go there for Christmas. This year I have to do down extra early for a baby shower (12/18) and DH will probably meet me down later in that week, and then will be back the Monday after Christmas. I grew up with real trees, but also remember watering them daily. DH did not. I'm worried leaving a real tree unattended for at least a week is too much of a fire hazard. Am I right?

I dont think it's a real fire hazard unless you leave the lights on, or you keep it by a heater.
Just make sure to set it up away from the heater and turn off the lights. I think it would be fine.
Or, just get a little pre-lit tree, since you wont be around much...

They sell good bases now that hold a few days worth of water. Home Depot and a few others I know carry them.

I would def make sure it is not near a heater - that could be a problem.

You do have to water the tree daily but as long as you don't leave the tree near a heat vent or the lights on you will be fine. The only thing that may happen is the tree will probably dry out a little more than it normally would because noone is there to water it. Nothing bad would happen though.
