Christmas Presents

Soo.. have you all started shopping? What are you getting for the kiddos this year?

I just feel like my choices are getting more and more limited and EXPENSIVE as they get older! And I'm getting poorer!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Christmas Presents

I have not started, I am normally an early shopper but when I buy early for my kids I wind up buying and buying right up until christmas.

We have so much **** and no room for more of it, so I am at a loss. I want to start selling the crap we have but they play with most of it and wehn we tired to donate some stuff they wanted to get rid of each other's stuff or like 5 matchbox cars Chat Icon

I think we are going to get them bikes from Santa and then from us, I have no clue. They want every friggin toy that they see the commercial for.

I wish they wanted one expensive small item, it would make my year, lol.

I really don't want to do physical gifts this year, I wanted to take the kids on a surprise trip the day after Christmas, but DH doesn't think he can take off. So now I'm not sure.

Rumor has it that BN might be coming out with an ereader that is targeted to kids which intrigues me since we have an obnoxious number of books already (4 bookcases just for the kids! Chat Icon ) But that would depend on how much it is and how durable it looks.

Haven't shopped yet but this is on the list of options:

-an American Girl doll to replace the lost one....
- FLIP video camera
- iTunes gift card for their iPods.

We did just buy a motorized scooter for a birthday present.

Re: Christmas Presents

I would like to start buying things, but what they want is expensive. Well, expensive for a 4 and 6.5 yr old. I do get a lot of stuff for them every year, but financially don't spend too much. I would just do really good at getting GC and sales that I was always able to get a lot more. This year, I don't think that's going to happen. As they get older things are getting so much more expensive. Chat Icon

LOL! Just wait until they hit high school. Last year, DD had 2 gifts under the tree. DS had 3. My 5th grader had 4x that because his stuff was so much cheaper.
