christmas morning traditions?
do you have any, or any that you would like to begin?
This is the first year we will be having christmas morning as just "us"
In the past, we went to my IL's house and had breakfast in our pjs, opened gifts with them. Since we have DS now, we decided that this is our year to begin our own traditions.
I want to cook a nice breakfast for DH and eat together and then open gifts with him and DS. Play some christmas music and lay around in our pjs watching christmas movies until late morning
We always go to Mass on Christmas Eve, looking forward to taking DS this year

Re: christmas morning traditions?
We do christmas eve with the family here. Then go to church. Come home put out the cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and his reindeer.
Christmas AM which ever child is up first can wake up the other DD's. They we open presents. Then the family all starts coming to us usually around 10am till about 3 pm. We get all the grandparents and aunts/uncles to stop by and then fro christmas dinner we usually just have leftovers and sit down and watch a christmas movie on the tv and snooze.
This will be our second year not traveling to everyone's house, but it is sooo great just being home with our girls on christmas day and not being stressed over having enough time to stop and see everyone.

Re: christmas morning traditions?
Ours sounds a lot like your plans. We do gifts, DH cooks a big breakfast, we hang around for a little. Then we head to my parents Christmas morning for gifts, since we spend the day with DH family.
We do mass on Christmas Eve as well. When we get home, we sprinkle reindeer "food" on the lawn, and put out milk and cookies. We wait for DS to fall asleep and then bring out the gifts.

This is EXACTLY what I have in mind!
Although, my birthday is on Christmas day so it would be amazing if DH made breakfast instead of me
In DH's stocking is It's a Wonderful Life and in DS's stocking is The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Ideally, I'd love to put both of these on in the morning.
We celebrate Christmas on the Eve with family, the big dinner, etc. So we'll have DS open his presents from everyone on Christmas Eve while they're over (we're hosting), before he goes to bed. Then he will open the presents from us on Christmas morning.

Re: christmas morning traditions?
DH is not one to part with old tradations easily LOL... so we are still going to his parents house about 10:30/11 for their breakfast. I'm fine with it this year, for I know that's going to be changing soon since my SIL will be moving out of state. DS wakes up at 7:30/8 normally, so we'll do breakfast, only b/c he's so young, and then open gifts. When he gets older, gifts def come first HAHA. Then we'll watch a movie after all is opened, still in our jammies, and play with all the new stuff. As he gets older i told DH I want to be home ALL morning ... so we'll see how that works out LOL.
