I want to get DH a camcorder/video camera (I don't know the difference) for Christmas from the baby. I was going to attach a card saying something like "for you daddy, to video me when I come join you and mommy in May".

Anyone know of any good brands and models? I don't need the absolute best, but something good that will last and do a good job of taping those first smiles, crawls, steps, etc. I don't want to spend more than $400. Is that unreasonable for a decent camera?
