Re: Christmas Day Brunch

Mimosa.. yum.

I'd do baked french toast, a couple of quiche or frittatas, a small smoked ham, some cheeses, fruit salad and some croissants, rolls and bagels with cream cheese, butter and jelly. If you don't want to do a ham, then do a cold cut platter with the appropriate accompaniments to make different kinds of sandwiches.

Re: Christmas Day Brunch

If I were you, I'd order 2 Breakfast Pizzas from Family Deli in Bohemia. They are delicious!!! It's pizza crust with eggs, bacon and sausage. We get this every year for Christmas at my parents house. Sooooo goood!!

ETA: You pre-order it and you can pick it up on Christmas Eve and on Christmas morning, just pop it in the oven for a little while.

That is the most delicious breakfast food ever...they have them at our payday breakfasts sometimes and it is great!

We do brunch each Christmas day and I always serve 2 different frittatas...this year is still undecided, but probably one with a bacon criss-crossed pattern on it...we usually do a small spiral sliced ham...french toast casserole...hash browns...grits...bacon...fresh fruit...melon wrapped in prosciutto...mimosas...coffee...we do ham and a baked pasta dish for dinner, so I try not to make it too large!

I might do the breakfast pizza, that sounds interesting..

I don't really want to do TOO much b/c my parents, sister and I are going to my uncles at 2pm for dinner...

Re: Christmas Day Brunch

you can make your own breakfast pizzas too! I do it for our boys and they love it.

Easiest way is to buy Boboli thin crust pizzas - put on some scrambled (not all the way set) eggs, some cooked slices of breakfast sausage, some cooked bacon and some cheese. Throw it in the oven and bake until cheese is melted.

I think Christopher would probably get a huge kick out of helping make it - he can help put the toppings on!

Re: Christmas Day Brunch

I am of the KISS school of thought on Christmas Day.

Ferruggia Omelet (created by my dad Chat Icon ) scrambled eggs riddled with crispy bacon

and a sweet starch

quick french toast (challah or brioche sliced. dip in egg wash flavored with cinnamon and vanilla. then dip in brown sugar mixed with more cinnamon. throw in on the griddle)

or...even quicker, a little different and totally yummy

Nun's puffs you can top these with anything...jams, syrups..I love the flavor, texture, and EASE of making these. I also add a nice amount of vanilla to the mix.

bagels/english muffins/toast, breakfast sausage on the side, along with sliced melon, coffee, mimosas.

too much food in the morning send my appetite to the toilet.

Re: Christmas Day Brunch

My parents host one every year. They serve:
breakfast casserole made with eggs, cheese, bread and sausage, sausage links, fruit salad with yogurt, croissants and mimosas (best part!)
