Christening time at church/party

My daughter will be planning her babys christening for Apr. The church said the christening will be around 1:15 (after the last mass on Sun) She's planning on having the party afterwards in a restaurant. What time did your party start if the church was so early? And if it was in Nassau County, where did you have your party? I know alot of places will book something from say 1-4 then 5-9 or something like that. Thanks.

We had DS's Christening at 930am. Then we had his party from 1-5 but we rented the local firehouse. I think a lot of restaurants have private rooms and you should be able to pick your own time...

Re: Christening time at church/party

My church only does baptisms at 2pm so I've been telling prospective restaurants that the party would start at 3:30. None of the places I've called have had any time restrictions (I'm in Suffolk) and we're going to use a restaurant in the same town as the church. I figure the ceremony is less than an hour, then people hang around and chat/take pics so by the time we get to the restaurant it'll be about 3:30. It's an odd time for dinner but we don't really have a choice.

church is 1:30, lunch at 3. although the restaurant said whenever we get there is fine. i did run into places that would only start the party at 4.
