Chimney Sweeping People Recommendation
Who do you use?
How much is it?
How often do you have it cleaned/inspected?
And lastly, those creosote logs, do you think they work??

Re: Chimney Sweeping People Recommendation
Are you having any problems? If not, I say leave it and don't mess with it.
I heard Chimney Cleaning was the biggest scam out there.

Re: Chimney Sweeping People Recommendation
The $39 "chimney cleanings" are a scam - the ones that promise a free inspection always try to upsell you on needing a major creosote cleaning, relining, electric chimney caps, etc and if they just "clean" it they spend a short amount of time just cleaning the bit you can see. We've had maybe half a dozen of them come in to quote jobs and they all have some different problem they are touting - trying to upsell the job.
I did a lot of research and basically you'll pay about $175 - $200 for a full cleaning from a good, licensed company and it will take about an hour. We ended up using Chief Chimney and were very happy with their work.

It can be. But I used Best Way Chimney from a recommendation on here and they were great.
No BS. They did a sweep for me and told me that my furnace didn't even need to be cleaned and the chimney was barely dirty.
They cleaned it anyways for a very nominal fee and didn't hit me with any BS. I also asked them to install a chimney cap which wasn't that expensive either.
Would definitely recommend!
