Child sleeping in randomly?
Do your kids ever need extra sleep?
My son is not sick. No fever. Acting totally fine.
He will be two years old next month.
He normally is a great sleeper, so OK, but he normally sleeps 6:30pm/7pm -- 7am.
This morning he slept until 10:15am. And at that point I finally woke him. He was kind of miffed about that, too. But eventually I have to go to work!
When he didn't wake up at his normal time, I gave it a little bit... Then, I went into check that he was BREATHING because I was like, huh?!
And then I figured he just needed it -- so I called work and his daycare and said we will be coming in late, the boy needs to sleep. And yeah he slept until after 10 when I finally woke him. Has this happened to anyone??
I called and talked to daycare since then - they said he has been acting totally normal and even took his normal two hour nap!

Growth spurt maybe? Or maybe the heat go to him and he needed some sleep.

My first thought was the heat because I myself, even as an adult, gets exhausted from the heat.

It is possible. My son was sleepy much earlier than normal last night. I just chalked it up to heat.

This happens randomly with DD too. I guess, like us, they sometimes just need a few extra zzzz's!

Same here. I just roll with it. If I have to get to work I go in a bit late as I hate waking her up if she needs the sleep. Two weekends ago she slept till 1030. Then took a nap 2 hours later. She was fine just tired. I know I've had those days so I'm sure our kiddies do too.

Growth spurt. My girls do the same thing. Sleep is when they grow.

Happens to my daughter like every other month. She'll sleep in or will take a 4 hour nap. I love it lol.

Re: Child sleeping in randomly?
This just happened last night to DD and she will be 2 next month also! I just said to my DH that I think she is going through a growth spurt. This happens to her whenever she has one.

Re: Child sleeping in randomly?
I think sometimes things catch up to them. Last week our five year old went to bed normal time and woke up at 130!

Totally normal, my son did this around the same age. Especially after a super crazy day.
