Anyone leave when their child is still sleeping?

My parents watch my little one who is 16 months old. Last school year my DH would be home in the morning with DD and I would go in and kiss her (about 10 times I would kiss my hand and place them on her) and most of the time she would not wake up. Now that school has started again his hours have changed and my parents are coming here around 6 a.m. to sit with my daughter until she wakes up. I keep waking her up when I kiss her now. I feel tremendous guilt that I wake her. Today I blew her kisses and she slept an extra 20 minutes. Sometimes she won't even wake up. I don't know if I am making it a big deal and should just blow the kiss or actually go in and kiss her.

SORRY if you got this far. I am making more of this I know but it makes me so sad. Leaving. Wanting to kiss her. Wanting to wake her up so I can see her. Wanting her to sleep because she has to.

Both kids are sleeping when I leave in the morning.

It is much, much easier that way versus have the kid crying because you are leaving.

I kiss them goodnight every night & that's it. They stay up late, so we get more time together.

I'm really quiet not to wake them!

I don't go in their rooms if they are still sleeping. This is our 3rd day with me back at work after summer vacation. It's hard, but I just try to enjoy putting them to bed at night.

I have to agree. I'd hate to disturb her from being in a nice sleep.

Thank you all. I was really starting to feel terrible. I am glad I am not the only one who has to deal with this. I will blow kisses. It will take some getting used to.

I dont wake my ds up. I go in his room just to look at him but not touch him. He would absolutely wake up.

I also don't go in even though it kills me and I've literally cried at times at having to leave the house and go to work without seeing DD. But I would hate to wake her and it's all about doing what's best for them, always.

Anyone leave when their child is still sleeping?

8 out of 10 times, DD is still sleeping when I leave. IF she gets up, I'll change her diaper, sit with her for about 5 minutes and then say goodbye. She says goodbye back. No tears yet, thankfully.

Same for me. It really throws me off when one or both wake up!

If DS is sleeping when I leave, I never go in. I'd rather him sleep. There are some days DH doesn't even see DS b/c he leaves when DS is asleep and comes home when I'm putting him to sleep. It sucks, but it's life. We need to work and DS needs to sleep.

Anyone leave when their child is still sleeping?

I have the opposite, 3 nights a week he's asleep when I get home. I just stare at the monitor, but I don't go in. It's really hard sometimes, but I don't want to disturb him

I try to leave when shes sleeping. If she's awake she flips out and we both end up crying as I leave lol.

Anyone leave when their child is still sleeping?

Usually all of my kids are sleeping, though now my oldest is starting to be up for school. But I don't wake my 14 mths old up almost ever. If I hear her start to wake up, I run out. Breaks my heart and I'd love to hug and kiss her, but it is much much harder on her to see me and then watch me leave. Then she cries and screams for me.

I leave before she wakes up. I put a kiss in her hand when I'm putting her to bed so she has one for the morning. Lol

Anyone leave when their child is still sleeping?

I don't dare go in there... don't want to wake her up! She is a good sleeper at night but a terrible napper...

It is actually harder when I get to see her in the morning. I'm a teacher, and leave before 7. The first day of school she slept until 9! So I just looked at her on the monitor and cried a little.

The next 3 days, she got up around 6:45, as I'm about to leave, and I went in to say good morning before DH gives her a bottle and I just sobbed and sobbed... So while it makes me sad to not see her in the morning, I'm a much calmer mommy when I leave. And I don't want her to see me cry and sense that I am upset.
