Child Sleep Study
I am suspecting that my 21 month old son might have sleep apnea. He has awful sleeping issues and wakes multiple times at night. He snores like a fat 60 year old man. I had enlarged tonsils and adenoids as a child which caused OSA, my husband currently has obstructive sleep apnea. My main concern is having a sleep study done. He already sleeps terribly, but I feel if it is done at a sleep center, he will sleep even worse. When I had mine done 22 years ago it was an at home test. I had a monitor hooked up to me and a video camera watching as I slept. Does anyone know how it works now?
Also, does anyone have suggestions for great pediatric ENTs in Nassau?
Thanks!

Child Sleep Study
My 5 year old had it done a few months ago. It was horrible, lol. We went to a sleep center, it was exactly like a hotel room. It took about an hour for them to hook him up to Ron's of wires and a band around his chest. He was miserable. We got there at 7, he finally fell asleep around 2. And they woke us up at 6. He slept horribly, and I hardly slept at all.
Good Luck!

Child Sleep Study
My ENT didn't even bother with a sleep study after we went through all the issues and he saw the size of dd's tonsils and adenoids. Two weeks after her first ENT appt we were scheduling her surgery to have them removed. Best decision ever. She rarely gets sick, she doesn't snore and she sleeps soundly. My ENT is ENT & Allergy Associates. We went to an office in Suffolk but per their website they have offices in Nassau too. 1-855-368-2362

Re: Child Sleep Study
If his tonsils and adnoids are extremely enlarged, you may just be able to record the sound of him sleeping for the ENT.
