We actually had a more cushion-y one in there and just took that out the other day b/c DD was getting too warm and we put the Chicco one back in. She is almost 7 weeks old. I think the little tag on the side of the seat says leave it until they are 12 pounds. DD is more than that but she seems very comfortable so I'm leaving it.

It says on the seat that you can use it up to 11 lbs. I, however, did not notice there was a weight limit on that until my son was about 13 lbs! Chat Icon So that's when we took it out.

Yes, the weight limit is 11 lbs and it says to not use it after that weight. When it comes to safety items like a car seat, I always defer to their instructions since they tell you what everything has been tested for and what's safest for your child.

yeah, take out the base at 11 lbs. but you can keep the head support in longer, i believe.

Re: Chicco Key fit owners

I was asking because DS is sweating like crazy and I feel like the insert is making him hotter. He is not 11 yet so I guess I have to keep it.
