Cheap books?
I want to get some books for the kids but refuse to buy them from a big bookstore because they are so darn expensive! Are there any used book stores out there?

Re: Cheap books?
I love books!
Try: Scholastic (books are around $3-4, but are soft cover). Barnes & Nobles sales Discount stores (like "Amazing Savings") often have a book section.

Re: Cheap books?
amazon has a lot of quality books for good prices if you don't care about quality- the dollar tree someone also posted once on an entire box of used (but good condition) children's books for a very low price. maybe they will post about it again?

Re: Cheap books?
I was pleasantly surprised by the books at Dollar Tree. No, you won't find well known titles or authors, but there are great books about basic concepts, and some cute stories as well.

Re: Cheap books?
Book revue in Huntington has a table of 50% off titles. And if you ever find yourself in union square, go down to the strand. They have a great childrens section. Any book that has a black marker slash across the width of the book is a remainder and is like half price or less. I just pull out books and look for the black slash!

Re: Cheap books?
i feel the same way as you. Ive done pretty well at marshalls and tj maxx. they sometimes have clearance books for less than $1. Each store has diff pricing so its worth it to check the books when you go. Check your library sometimes they sell books. I know my library sells them for 10cents. My neighbor has made out well but I always seem to miss the kids ones. also, big lots, some supermarkets sell books those bargain books. theyre usually located in big boxes.

Re: Cheap books?
Ebay will often have lots of a certain kind of book Arthur, Clifford or whatever really inexpensive.
Used book racks at some public libraries.
Also try garage sales.

Cheap books?
Best Bargain Books in Patchogue closed, I believe. I could be wrong about that.
We get most of our books at Savers. I freaking love Savers. Every kids book is 99 cents and if you buy 4, the 5th is free.
We also always check the discard rack of the library. We got an entire set of Junie B Jones books for 50 cents!!
