Charleston
Going with my mom, aunt, and sister for a long weekend in late October. I've never been. Looking for recommendations on where to eat, visit, or stay?
Thanks!

Re: Charleston
Thanks! We were thisclose to booking in Mount Pleasant on the water and taking the water taxi into charleston, but deicde to stay right in the historic district instead so we can walk everywhere. I've never been there before. Supposedly there is a great dining scene!

Charleston is fabulous! So many great dining options and things to do/see! I go there frequently for work and have vacationed there many times!
Fleet Landing is a new favorite, it's right on the harbor, so you can watch the boats, and many times see dolphins going by.
Blossom is downtown and is a new favorite. There are 2 other sister restaurants in the chain, Magnolia and Cypress...they're all on the same street, very close to each other.
I've heard great things about Poogan's Porch, though I haven't made it there myself yet.
If you're interested in doing a boat tour, I highly recommend Tideline Tours on Folly Beach. Captain Anton is fabulous, I've been on the tour many times, we always see dolphins and Captain Anton points out many of the other animals, plants, etc. living in the marsh.

As far as places to stay... it really depends on your budget! I like the Charleston Marriott on Lockwood, although it is right outside of downtown, so it really depends on where you want to be. I've also stayed at the Charleston Place which is gorgeous, but pricey. The Renaissance is also very nice. I'll be staying at The Mills House when I visit in September.
I've also stayed at the Charleston Harbor hotel, and while not right downtown, they have a shuttle that runs downtown frequently.
I love, love, love Charleston so I'm happy to answer questions if I can, you're welcome to PM me if you'd like!

Re: Charleston
Thank you for all the info! Im only seeing this now.
:)
We reserved The Embassy Suites Downtown. But keeping an eye for price drops. Many places seem to be all booked for that weekend already!
Any advice on getting from the airport to downtown? Are taxi's readily available? My mom, sis, and aunt are driving, so Im the only one flying in.
