In general I think breakfasts are better than lunches or dinners. Our favorite was Chef mickeys breakfast

Cinderella's Royal Table, 'Ohana, Tusker House, and Cape May all have pretty good food!

Is Ohana breakfast better than dinner?
We only booked our Disney trip for next month last week so most ADR's were taken. We were able to get a breakfast for Ohana and a Breakfast at Cape May. Should I keep trying for dinner at Ohana or can I stop the madness and be happy with breakfast? LOL! And will these two suffice? Can I give up trying to get in for Chef Mickey?

'Ohana breakfast and dinner are very different. They're both great and very worth doing, but if you didn't get in to 'Ohana dinner it just leaves you something for next time. I think I took 5 or 6 trips before setting foot in 'Ohana and didn't ruin any of those trips
I would pick 'Ohana breakfast and Cape May breakfast over Chef Mickey's any day, and both feature Mr. Mouse himself. I wouldn't trouble myself over Chef Mickey's. Gotta leave something for next time!

Dinner at Ohana is nice but keep in mind it is not a character meal.

Isn't Cape May a pain to get to for breakfast without a car? What do you do - go to EPCOT and walk or to EPCOT or HS and take the boat over? Or are you stuck taking a taxi there early morning? I have always considered going there but took it off our list since it seemed like a pain to get to in the morning.

Cape May can definitely be a pain to get to, but since she already booked it I assumed she already had a plan to get there
OP - will you have a car?

If I wanted to do it how would you recommend getting there? Do you recommend doing it only when you don't plan to go to the park that morning?

Re: Character dining at Disney World.....which one???
I would do it on a morning when I was planning to go to EPCOT or DHS because they are walking distance and iit would depend on where I'm staying. The front desk will direct you on the best way to go about it and what time to expect the earliest bus the next day. You can take the DHS bus and then walk or often if you tell the bus driver where you are going chances are she will drop you right at BC.
If you want to be safe, take a taxi.
I'd personally only do it on a morning when I'm headed to DHS or EPCOT. Don't want to worry about another bus after that, too much time out for travel= not worth it
That's just my personal opinion. I wouldn't necessarily recommend first timers go to Cape May just because of the transportation hassle. There are other choices for character meals.

I had no idea Cape May was a pain to get to, and I don't have a car! I haven't been to Disney in 16 years and the Dining person said this was great place and made the reservation. Now I'm questioning if I should keep it. The reservation is at 10:05 am on our last day in Disney. Our flight leaves Orlando at 3:30. Am I cutting this close? Should I cancel?
Also, we're staying at Animal Kingdom is that makes a difference.

I'd switch it!
If you're taking Magical Express, it's going to pick you up around 12:30, so you'd need to be on a bus back to AKL by 11:30 at the latest. It's cutting it too close and too much travel on your last day IMO.
Will you have park tickets for the last day?
If you don't need a character meal, I'd stick with Boma right a your resort. They have a phenomenal breakfast. If you need characters and have park tickets, try for Tusker House at Animal Kingdom.
The cast members on the phone are not Travel Agents. All they'll telll you is to allow 90 minutes to get to your destination, they don't know about what else you have planned or how to make the overall picture work for YOUR family, KWIM?

My favorites were Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast and 'Ohana for breakfast! Both were great.
We disliked Crystal Palace for Dinner.

While Boma doesn't have characters it was probably the best buffet we did in WDW. They do a great breakfast and a great dinner. BTW we love the AKL great hotel!!

Re: Character dining at Disney World.....which one???
We just came back and LOVED the princess breakfast in the castle at MK, Chef Mickey's for dinner was great and we went early so the characters really spent a lot of time with us. We did the Disney Jr Dine and Play at Hollywood Studios and the food was gross. I would not recommend that one at all!
