chapped lips on a newborn?
My baby boy is just 9 days old and I had my first pediatrician visit this morning but after getting home and feeding him I noticed what seems to look like chapped lips, almost like vey severely chapped if you were out skiing. They don't seem to have bothered him and the pediatrician didn't notice--either did I until about an hour ago....has anyone ever heard of this or seen it? Should I be concerned and do something. I'm contemplating calling the doctors office--which I'm sure sounds silly but I can't find anything about it in any of my books....

it's pretty normal. you can put some aquafor on them.

I always use aquaphor on my DDs face at night and sometimes if she needs it during the day. It works wonders

I have to agree with all the other ladies. Aquaphor is amazing. Not only does it help dry skin, but whenever my DS scratches himself I put it on him and the scratches go away so quickly.

I just asked my pediatrician this exact question....she said not to put anything on it.
