CBR or Viacord?
Did anyone do cord blood banking, and if so, did you use either of these two companies?
If so... why did you choose the company you did?

I'm using viacord - my dr. told me its better, and I know someone who did a lot of research in all the companies, and viacord was the one she chose....

I went with Viacord... I had looked into CBR but when it came down to delivery day, the hospital only had the Viacord kits!

My uncle is a doctor and my cousin did a lot of medical research before chosing their company. They are using Cytobanks international. We haven't decided who to use. My aunt has parkinsons so this was a decision they spent a tremendous amount of time on.
Some things to look for:
Whether they are accredited/licensed
Will they be around in 20 years
Do they do cord blood banking exclusively
ask your doctor why they are recommending certain banks (many do heavy promoting to drs).
what they company policies are as well some do not do cloning or embryonic reseach.
There are many companies out there besides Viacord and CBR if you don't want to use those two.

We are going with CBR. It was recommended by our practice and we also had a referal which gave us a discount. It was less expensive than Viacord and liked how they offered a payment plan.

My Dr recommended CBR and I just had a better experience with the customer service with questions that i had than with Viacord
