cathedral ceilings ???
I have a house with 2 rooms that have cathedral ceilings... One wall is straight and the adjacent wall is slanted and so it comes to a high point....
My question is can I make the whole room one color or should I stick with a white ceiling?

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
My parents have cathedral ceilings in their house. In the LR they painted the walls and ceilings the same color, in their bedroom they did the ceiling white.
I prefer the ceiling white because I think it makes the wall color "pop" more.

My mom has cathedral ceilings in her house and they are white. I like the way it looks with white ceilings.

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
keep them white. I have seen the ceiling and wall where it is all one color, but I feel its just a trend.

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
I saw white, you want to show those ceilings off. If you paint them all one color it just blends too much.

I agree- our LR ceiling is white, and the walls are a light golden tan. All one color would be too much, IMO.

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
The house we are buying has a cathedral ceiling and they have it painted all one color. It's a light greenish, grayish, blue. It looks ok, but I want to paint it white. I think it will make the room seem bigger.

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
we are keeping ours white. I like the clean lines between the white ceiling and the colored wall.

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
I painted the room all the same color...including the ceiling. We did a sage green. IMO....painting the walls a color and the ceiling white causes a break to the eye when looking at the room. It makes the ceiling feel lower...opposite of what you THINK it would do. Also, most all designers agree that white ceilings are so out. It's nice when the ceiling is a shade or 2 lighter than the wall color. But in a room with cathedral ceilings, it's nice when it's all the same. Makes the room feel HUGE!

Re: cathedral ceilings ???
our house was built in the 80's so we have catherdal/vaulted ceilings galore. I don't care for them. In our Master bath, we used the same color as the walls, the bathroom needs to be gutted but we just wanted to freshen it up till we get to it, when we renovate we'll get rid of the vaulted ceiling. This isn't a great pic
Our master bedroom the ceiling is not white, but not the same color as the walls, this is a pics from when we first moved in 2 years ago
here's a pic of the great room during a party, you can see the white ceiling, audobon russet accent wall & putman ivory on the other three walls. the weird brightspot on the wall is the sun coming in the skylight.
I need to take new pics.
