Re: Catfish- the documentary

Just watched it last weekend- it was really good. I found it amazing how honest she was when he called her out. I mean she still lied about some things but really talked with him about everything. Shows how crazy she really is!

Re: Catfish- the documentary

This really happened? or was it was more of a mockumentary?

Re: Catfish- the documentary

I'm pretty sure its not a mockumentary and that it really happened.

I was floored at how candid Angela was too when Nev confronted her. I guess she figured that she was caught, so why not fess up. Plus, I feel like she kinda wanted the attention of fessing up, as well. I also feel like she probably did not expect Nev to hang around and chat with her once he figured her out- so maybe she felt like she owed it to him to be honest?

I read this article on an interview that she did:

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/catfish-woman-angela-wesselman-twisted-cyber-romance-abc/story?id=11831583

And she must've known that Nev's brother Rel and Henry were film makers because she was quoted as saying that she hoped they were filming bc it would make a great movie.

All in all, I feel bad for Angela. I think she felt "stuck" in her situation of being married to Vince and taking care of the boys and Abby- that she fantisized about this world of being an artist, etc. She says in the movie that Nev's world gave her access to things that she could only dream about, which IMO, is so sad.

I feel bad for Abby. She was totally confused when Nev was at the beach house and asked her about painting and Megan.

Also- at the end of the movie, I had interpreted that Megan wasn't even a real person- but the above article says that she does exist.

Saw this and was amazed how that woman was able to keep up so many other personas. As much as I think what she did was wrong, I feel bad for her. It was like her alter egos were her escape from her reality.
