Catering menu help?
Okay I need help deciding what to order and how much. We are planning a party for about 40 people and we want to get Italian food. It would be dinner time not just a snack. What are some dishes besides chicken parmagian we could order? And how many trays?
TIA btw-we are all big eaters

a large tray is about for 20 people i think a large tray of each thing is sufficient some will eat one thing, some will not

I would do a: pasta dish --stuffed shells eggplant parm chicken marsala pepper steak a sausage dish salad and garlic bread
ETA---along with a few appetizers : antipasta, cheese and crackers, brushetta, shrimp cocktail

i just hosted a party for about 60 people we had: chicken marsala veal picatta chicken parm ravioli (2 trays) rigatoni with shrimp and broccoli chicken with sausage and potatoes eggplant rollatini (2 trays) stuffed mushrooms tomato/mozzarella salad
we ended up having the extra eggplant tray and ravioli tray leftover. Most of the chicken parm did not go, but the veal went quick.

Eggplant rolatini is a big hit with our family.
I would do a chicken, I prefer franciase or marsala over parmigian.
Penne ala vodka or some other macaroni with red saurce. Just went to a party where they had one with spinach, grilled chicken, tomatoes, and lots of garlic. It was excellent.
I like the idea of linguini with clam sauce. Or I would do ziti with garlic & oil and brocolli.
Meatballs
Salad
Garlic Knots
