Does anyone live in these areas? Tell me what I need to know! It's looks very pricey for NC. Tell me why! Great schools? Thanks!

I lived in SW Durham until last year - not far from that area. Housing prices are just more expensive than I would have thought for that area, but RTP (Research Triangle Park) is bringing a lot of businesses to the area and more people buying houses drives up the price. People say they liked the school system but it's not as good as what we found on LI. One thing they do (which is appealing to me) is that some school are year round - they still go to class the same number of days, but they don't have 3 months off in the summer. So there's no drop off in learning and breaks are scattered throughout the year - which means you can go to places like Disney when others are in school. :)
