Carpet recs?
We need carpet for our basement... commercial with padding. Empire gave us a quote but it was kinda pricey! Anyone have a good recommendation? TIA

We just got carpet from Village Carpet in West Hempstead (on Hempstead Tpke). They beat the lowest quote we received. We dealt with George, he was really nice.

We had a good expreience with Carpet Depot. They have several LI locations, but we used the one in Wantagh on Sunrise Highway (because we are in N. Bellmore). I believe they are also in Levittown, and have other locations in Nassau (and maybe one in Suffolk).
I have no idea how their pricing compares to competitors, and we used them about 2.5 years ago. But they had a good selection, and we found the service to be good, and the carpeting we got (upstairs hallway, master bedroom, and family room) has held up well.

If you live near Lake Grove I highly recommend "Classic Carpet" in Lake Grove on Rt. 25/Middle Country Road. (in the Burlington Coat Factory and Harrows shopping center)
They installed within a week and also have great prices and a ton of carpet remnants. Friends of ours also used them and no complaints either.
