Caribbean vacation with kids?
2 questions.... 1. Whats the youngest you have or would take your DC to the caribbean 2. Can anyone recommend kid friendly resorts that aren't super duper expensive?
I have 2 DS--25 months and 2 months, DH really wants to go away in the next month or two to somewhere warm. I am just not sure!

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We did a cruise, which was fun, but difficult. My parents are looking into a Disney cruise possibly.
I've heard WONDERFUL things about Beaches Turks and Caicos
and TAKE ME WITH YOU
ETA-You can probably get some decent last minute deals too

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We love Punta Cana in the DR....Really short flight ( 3.5 hrs) and most if not all the resorts are all inclusive which is n ice ...We stay at the Paradisus Punta Cana ( they have a sprinkler park pool which my DS loves !) They also have a kids program with a really nice rec room... DD was 6 months last time we went and we have been there a few times before then.... (pics in my album DR 2009)

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We have a time share in Aruba and leaving on Sunday with DS who will be 8.5 months old. Can't wait. Love that it's a timeshare so we have a full kitchen and separate bedroom.
You can look into renting a timeshare

We took DD when she was 11 mos to St. Thomas, it was great, she loved the beach pool etc...I've heard AMAZING things as well about Beaches Turks and Caicos for kids as well as Atlantis in the Bahamas!!!

1. Whats the youngest you have or would take your DC to the caribbean *We went to Beaches Turks and Caicos when DD was turning 8 months
2. Can anyone recommend kid friendly resorts that aren't super duper expensive? *Even though it can get expensive, I would go back to Beaches in Turks in a heartbeat
*we also did a Carnival cruise with DD when she was 2. She had a BLAST!

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We are probably doing an eastern caribbean cruise next month. We have to go to Florida to visit an elderly family member and the cruise leaves from Miami so its perfect. I am worried about sleeping is such a small room with my son, but the prices are so awesome for cruises and all-inclusive.

1. Whats the youngest you have or would take your DC to the caribbean We went to the BVI when DD#1 was about 4 months. Since its so close to the USVI, we felt comfortable bringing her there; other places I might not have felt as comfortable.
2. Can anyone recommend kid friendly resorts that aren't super duper expensive? We aren't really resort people...we usually rent houses or stay in villa type places. We like to have a kitchen so we can cook. We usually go to places that don't have resorts or high-rise hotels, but I can totally recommend the BVI, though it will be pricey this time of year to fly there.

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We plan on going to Panama (not in the Caribbean but close enough) when he is 8-10 months. We will be going to a beach resort for part of our trip. I just haven't looked into what side of the country we should visit yet.

We are going to Puerto Rico this summer and DS will be 13.5 months old. We are renting a house with friends right on the beach. I can't wait!

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
We are thinking Beaches Turks and Caicos in 2011. DS #1 will have just turned 4 and DS #2 will be 1 1/2.
I couldnt imagine bring an infant and having to bring formula and baby food. I think it is much easier to travel once they are eating table food.

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
They say the best time to travel is with kids under 1. They sleep most of the time! Anyway, I would definitely consider Beaches Turks & Caicos, I've been there before and also the Atlantis. Both are extremely kid friendly, but are not cheap. You might even want to consider a Disney cruise.

Re: Caribbean vacation with kids?
Disney Cruises are going to run you about 2 grand a person. They are not cheap...unless you're going to do an interior room.
I've done some research...and the Beaches in Jamaica is MUCH cheaper than the Turks one.
