Car insurance deductible
What is your deductible....$250, $500, $1000???
We have a $500 deductible but so many people have told me we should raise it to $1,000 b/c the amount of extra money we are paying each month is stupid compared to the $1,000 we might have to pay "if" we needed it.
Just wondering what everyone else has.

Mine is 500. I don't know if there is a huge difference in price per year if I increased it. I should look into it.

leave it at $500 -- its really not that much of a difference in price for having a $1K deductible vs. the $500. when you need it--$500 would be easier to have to pay than the $1K. plus some lienholders won't even allow you to get anything less than $500 as a deductible.

it really depends on the age of the car, most older cars have $1000 deductibles
