Car Dilema...WWYD?
My current lease is up in Sept. I also have a Blazer that I took of the road because it was never used. Danny has a work truck he takes home so we didn't need two cars.
The only problem is the a/c doesn't work 90% of the time and the mechanic can't figure out why. It's an older SUV(I think 98) so I would rather not pay for a new a/c unit.
Do you think I need a/c in Sept? If it was just me I wouldn't care...i'm worried about the boys...I don't want them to be hot. It's really just Sept and Oct that could possible be an issue...I know I won't need it after that.
I'm trying to avoid leasing/buying a new car in Sept. I would love to save money until tax time and use what we save and our tax money to buy a used car in March.

I would use the blazer.
Even if you replace the a/c unit it will be cheaper than monthly payments.
ETA: I would actually try and use that car for 2 years. Take what I would be saving every month for a car and stash it in the bank.

I think you would be fine w/o the AC, but have you had another mechanic look at it to see if they can figure out what's wrong? I would try that before I paid for a new a/c unit.
My husband is a mechanic, you can FM me for his shop info if you're interested.

I don't want to replace the A/C...the truck has a LOT of miles on it...I think over 250,000. Runs great but not sure how long I can really get out of it.

I'll take his info!! If I take it in it won't be until sometime in Sept though since it's not registered or insured at the time.
It's only been to 1 mechanic but a few time for the same problem.

Honestly, I can remember a few cars my parents had when I was a kid that had no or BAD a/c, and we just rolled down the windows and went on with life.
I think we all (and I am VERY much in this group!) sometimes forget the difference between a necessity and a luxury. We all want our kids to be the most comfortable and content they can be (and who doesn't??) but we forget that sometimes a little less than "the most" is okay too. And besides, kids are far more adaptable than we grown-ups are!
So go forth without a/c and enjoy the $$$$ you save!

My kids LOVE when the windows are down! There may be a few uncomfortable days that the humidity is high but I say go for it!

I hate the heat, so for me it would be an issue. The beginning of September can be really hot.

For me too...especially ater having kids...lol. Rylan would be ok but Xavier hates it.
I just checked though and the lease maturity date is Sept 26 so I might be ok.
