Car accident/insurance ?
I was sitting in my parked car the other day and someone bumped into me. The damage was minor.
We exchanged information and the police came.
The guy has Countrywide and I have Geico. So Geico tells me I'm (obviously) not at fault, and I can go through my insurance and they will try to get my deductible back, but no guarantees, or I can contact CW myself and go straight through them.
I called CW 3 times, left 2 messages - one time I was on hold so long I gave up - and have not heard back.
I called Geico and they said they would try to reach them but they are not having any better luck than I am.
Has anyone experienced this before? Are they just ignoring me, hoping I will go away? This is ridiculous.
Any recs for a body shop in case I do pay OOP to get it fixed (which I really DON'T want to do.) They said there are no guarantees they can even get it back, so I figured why spend the money first?

I would keep trying CW. If they don't get back to you soon, call the State Insurance Dept. and file a complaint

I agree with this. And state that on your message that if you don't get a call back within x amount time you will call the state insurance dept. garuntee they will call you back

Car accident/insurance ?
Someone I know got rear ended by someone with CW and got hurt - they did NOTHING. I don't understand how ppl get away with using these ins companies!

Car accident/insurance ?
I have Geico and our car was damaged at an off site parking lot at JFK. The damage was close to $4k and the lot was refusing to pay. We had geico take care of the repair (the car wasn't driveable) and then fight it out with the lot. Geico was relentless. They never gave up and ultimately got all of they money back including our deductible. It did take two years. Also, this incident did not cause our insurance to increase.
