Re: can't stop crying *LONG, sorry

I know how you feel, this is our second month too, and I feel like if i get AF the world is going to crumble. I also am so sorry for the other girls here who have gone through this for so much longer. Like you, I also know that I am being irrational and that it is not common to get preggers so easily, but big part of you expects that it will just happen. It is very depressing, but you have to keep your head up and keep going because it will happen for you!

Re: can't stop crying *LONG, sorry

aw so sorry you are feeling this way - but yes it is totally normal...do not apologize for your feelings.
I've been lurking on this board lately b/c I am thinking of starting TTC #2 in the next few months...
So I do have 1 child so I can tell you how it happened for me....
I was on BC for 15 years....
I say I got BFP 1st cycle trying but DH thinks otherwise....
Basically we didn't start TTC right when I went off the pill - I wanted to see how my cycles went and we used condoms. I can't even remember but I guess we stopped using them at some point...this is where DH and I differ on if we were "trying" or not....but I went 100+ days with no AF after 3 6-week cycles...so we weren't using any protection during those 100+ days and were Chat Icon a lot...so DH says we were trying then - but honestly I have no idea if I even ovulated or anything. So I was taking a pregnancy test here and there wondering if I was pregnant but got a few BFN's...then I went on provera to bring on my period.
It was then that I started using OPK's and I didn't ovulate until cd52 (my cycles were crazy coming off BCP)...2 weeks later I got my BFP.
So to me - that was my 1st cycle of really trying b/c I was using OPK's...
DH considers trying the minute we stopped using protection.
However you look at it - I was a different story b/c my cycles were so long....which made it feel like MONTHS for me b/c I O'd on cd52...not as many chances as girls on a more regular cycle to Chat Icon and get a BFP.
Hopefully your cycles are much more normal than mine and you get your BFP soon!
It's such a normal feeling...I remember I was SO depressed and upset during that time b/c I was just freaking out that most girls ovulated twice during the time it took me to ovulate just once...it was just sad and depressing and all i wanted was to get pregnant.
Hang in there - your feelings are really normal.
I hope things happen for you soon!

you are not a downer! TTC is frustrating when it doesnt happen when you want it to...and i know that even though you already know the stats on how long it takes a "normal" couple to get pregnant it still doesnt help the way you feel...

all i can say is it will happen for you...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: can't stop crying *LONG, sorry

I just posted something similar. I really feel like my body is letting me down too. I'm so tired of the disappointments month after month. I tear up at every pregnancy in my life...and baby showers too. I totally feel your pain. I am out again as of yesterday.

Its gonna happen for us, it will just take longer...but we'll get there! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm sorry you are feeling this way, and I understand. I totally get the whole idea of we did everything right and if it didn't work this month, why would it work any other time. You just need to accept that there is really no rhyme or reason to all this.

I can share my pg success story, which may give you some hope. For our first, we ttc for 13 months total. It was horrible. Then, I finally got my bfp, so it sometimes just does take longer for some. Just hang in there.

don't feel bad, i feel the same exact way. the first month was so upsetting for me because people had always joked how "fertile" the women in my family are and how i would probably get pregnant on the first try. so when i got af the first month ttc i was devastated. i know that it can take months to get pregnant but a part of me can not rationalize that fact in my brain. i just always felt that if your body was working properly then you would get pregnant, no questions asked. turns out there is a lot more to it than that but for some reason i can't completely accept that. sometimes i start to feel like there is something wrong with me. Chat Icon though, it is really nice to have these boards because they help you to realize you are not alone and a lot of us are having the same feelings and experiences Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Awww don't feel bad. My doc put it to me this way last night. She said getting pregnant isn't as easy as we all think. That just because you have unprotected sex doesn't mean you made a baby. That for normal, healthy couples it can take up to a year. She also gave a good analogy...

did you ever make plans to meet someone someplace and you were both there at the same time, but somehow missed each other?? Well, she said, that often happens when you're TTC. Everything needs to be aligned just right...like the stars.

I know this is not what you want to hear as it wasn't what I wanted to hear either, but it did help. I'm on my 10th month of TTC and in my mid-30's

Re: can't stop crying *LONG, sorry

I know how you feel, it will happen!! It takes the average woman under 35 6-9 months to conceive and that is if there are no issues with you or your DH. 2 months is just the beginning!! My RE told me that each cycle has a less than 5% chance of "working" just due to the science and nature of it all. Don't give up hope!

For me, I conceived first try in 2007, then had a m/c at 8.5 weeks. Conceived again 7 months after m/c and had Chat Icon in May 2008.

I've been TTC for over a year now for #2. I conceived June 2010 and m/c at 8.5 weeks. I have been TTC again since Nov and this month started Clomid.

its ok to cry.

Chat Icon

it took us 8 months with DD
We were both 25 when I found I was pregnant

We will both be 28 this year, DD is 18 months, and we have been trying for about 15 months, more winging it but I'm starting to feel anxious and I think if AF shows up this month, I will use the OTP next month.
