How many bottles is everyone starting out with? Should I bother getting some really small ones?

I had 15 when DS was born. And I have 20 now. BUT we didn't have a dishwasher in my last house, so I wanted to be able have a days worth of bottles plus a few extra.

I still use my 4oz bottles and DS is 4 months old, but I think he eats less than a lot of other babies. But I wouldn't get anything less than a 4oz bottle.

I have 12 right now with my DD...she's 9 days old. We also have a lot of of the nipples that screw right on to the ready made 2 oz bottles of Similac...

i might get a few more bottles, as I am washing / sterlizing pretty much every day.

I have 6, only opened up 3 though. I did not bother buying the small ones though. I will use the larger ones and just put less formula in them.

I got the Avent Newborn starter set for the beginning.

I EBF for the first month so I didn't need any.

Now that we are on all formula, I think we have 15 of the 8 ouncers and 6 of the 4 ouncers.

That's enough for us with a dishwasher. If we didn't have a dishwasher we would need more.

I only have 7 4 oz bottles and 4 8oz but DD likes to have smaller bottles, more frequently so we rarely use the bigger ones. I find that I am washing them A LOT. Especially since they are Dr. Brown's so I won't put them in the dishwasher due to the chemicals. I just wash them with a lot of soap and only warm water.

Right now I have 8 8 oz bottles and 6 4 oz bottles. Plus someone bought me more bottles off my registry...so I think in total around 20...its alot but I don't have a dishwasher. I also bought some on my own and registered for more because I learned from my sister that sometimes bottles get lost or forgotten when you travel.
