i cannot believe people!!!!! arrrrrrrrrrrrgh that makes me sooooooooooooooooooooooooo angry!!! i'm going to get my swine flu shot today. and the kids next week!!

Wow.

How stupid and just well.. stupid!

If your kid has the swine flu, dont you think the fever will send him home? So just stay home, sheesh.

On a side note, I took AJ to daycare once, she was not herself but ok. By 10am they called us to say she had a fever that started at 8am and had not gone down.

Honestly she had NO fever when we dropped her off (I checked every half hour - i know overkill but that's how I do it). It was Roseola and apparently sudden fever is a sign but i didnt know that.

I've also taken AJ to daycare after a night of fevers. If she has had a fever (teething etc) and tylenol has brought it down, I'll treat her and send her in.

But if she's actually sick (and she has been of course) we stay home with her. Sure she's miserable and yeah its a tough duty being home, but we have to and really we WANT to, she's OUR daughter and we'd worry about her otherwise.

Kinda selfish to say you would lie to a school rather than stay home with your sick child. Heaven help it if your child's sickness interrupts your spa day !

I'll never understand these kinds of people.

Even when i was little and I was sick (rarely) if I was home alone my dad was calling every hour to check on me (hey dont knock him, he was a single Dad working two jobs, he did the best he could for his two kids).



Oh and lately, I just DONT sit down anymore in the pediatrician's office. We have a 'well' and 'sick' side but frankly I dont care. Kids dont stay to sick or well sides and neither do their germs. AJ isnt allowed to stand, crawl, sit or walk in the waiting area. I stand the whole time with her in my arms. I get stares from the nurses and other mothers but I dont care. Yep.. that's me the Mom just standing in the middle of the waiting room. Pfft. She's not allowed to play with any of the toys (i bring my own) and only allowed to sit on the paper in the doc's office. Not allowed to touch ANYTHING else, blinds, walls, scale, etc. Nurses REALLY think im crazy then LOL but hey.. better safe than sorry, right?

Hope your kiddo stays healthy.. he seems to have lucked out!

Knowingly Sending your kid to school with the flu is just horrible.

nothing surprises me anymore. noone gives a crap about anyone else these days it's really sad. that conversation quite frankly would not have even phased me
