Cancer...
sucks...
I know we all know that...
but you know what...
HOSPICE SUCKS TOO!
watching an amazing woman like my cousin fight like hell for close to ten years and be sent home to
"be comfortable" and die at 51 years old
...sucks.

I lost my mom when she was 53
what the hell is going on that so many young people are dying!
at this rate my life is more then half over- and it's something I think about all the time

Thanks everyone. I have seen my grandparents and various great aunts and uncles pass away (g-ma when I was 12, g-pa when I was 19)
Maybe I am just older and aware of my mortality now or maybe it's just because she is so damn young. I just don't think it is fair at all. And all I can think is...it just sucks.
Too many people close to me have ailments lately such as cancer and other random illnesses that affects their lives so starkly...
what is going on?

Why does Hospice suck? Many dont want to die in a hospital but with their friends and family around in their own home. I think hospice workers are amazing people who deal with death so calmly and ease many people transitions in the best way possible.

Stories like this make me so sad. I haven't experienced it first hand but it's a definite fear of mine because I feel like it can happen to anyone at anytime.

Hospice sucks because she is dying. The finality of it...there's nothing else they can do but make her comfortable. no treatments, we now just count the days.
That sucks...
you are reading way into something that isn't there...I have nothing but admiration and amazement at the people who make people comfortable in their dying days. I have met so many caregivers who do just that...care.

I was given the number to hospice of the comforter and completly understand what you mean about the finality.
I am so sorry that you are going thru this right now. My heart goes out to you and your family.
