canceled cycle
So first cycle on clomid and the doc canceled it. Started on 50mg, than up'd to 100mg and after a sono this weekend they said it wasn't working I'm so upset, I really thought it would work for me. BTW I was taking clomid bacause i don't ovulate normally (maybe not at all), but don't have symptoms for PCOS outside of not ovulating.
So now i'm on provera and have to call my doc for next steps. I think i want to try a higher dose clomid again, what do you ladies think? what would he give me besides clomid to get me to ovulate?

Clomid is to produce follicles/eggs, not to induce ovulation. Ovidrel would be a drug to induce ovulation. I'm sorry, I don' tremember if you have posted your dr. Are you seeing an RE? They may give you a higher dose of Clomid. One of my friends needed 250 mg of Clomid just to get one egg.

Re: canceled cycle
Unfortunately, Clomid doesn't work for everyone. It didn't work for me- and they cancelled my first clomid cycle as well.
They can do another cycle of a higher dose, or move to injectibles, which will make you produce several follies.

Re: canceled cycle
I was always on a dose of 150mg, while I did always produce one follicle, it took a REALLY long time.
My last IUI cycle on Clomid the 150 didn't work, so they had me do another 100mgs iin that same cycle for another 5 days and I produced 4 follicles, but again was very late in my cycle.
If Clomid isn't working, chances are they will recommend moving to injectibles.

yes, sorry, meant to add that I would also be getting a shot of ovidrel once they saw mature eggs. And yes, I'm going to RMA of NY.
Ok, I'll see what my RE says, he was so hopeful last week and than nothing this weekend so maybe he'll want to try a higher dose clomid again. Thanks
