Can you please help me with where to hem this dress?
I decided to keep this dress for those random occassions that come up. I am thinking of wearing it on either Mothers Day or Fathers Day, stuff like that.
I don't want a short dress, so I don't want to go above the knee. (Unless you say that's the only way to go.) Can I hem it just enough to cover the knee? Or at the knee?
Also, I think I will have enough fabric leftover to redo the length of the sleeves. (They are a bit too short for my taste.) How far? I also posted the pic with the black shrug, can i make the sleeves that long, or somewhere between the original and the shrug? (I will not be wearing the dress with the shrug. I just posted for the sleeve length.)
Thanks so much!
Here's the dress:
Should I make the sleeves as long as the shrug's sleeves, or a bit shorter? (Again, I will not be wearing the shrug, just looking for length ideas.)

Just giving my honest opinion.. I'm not fan of that dress.. I didn't even like it on the model in the ad for it you posted.
I wouldn't spend the money to have it altered. I'd just keep it as is and wear the black shrug if needed. I feel like alterations are not cheap and I would rather put that money into something I really love. JMO!
ETA: With all the alterations you are looking to do on it.. it seems like you really don't "love" it either.

Nope. I am not a huge fan of it, but I love the way it feels on me. And I have lost some weight since I took that pic, so I am happier with the way it fits.
Personally, I want to alter about 99% off the dresses out there now. I HATE sleeveless, sleeves that are too short they get caught in your armpit, strapless, etc. I finally found a casual dress that was cheap and has enough extra material to do some things to it.
As for the alterations: I am doing them myself. Even if I wasn't, the dress was 50% off, so it didn't cost much.

I'm so impressed by anyone that can do their own alterations! If I could, I would customize all of my clothes.
